Happy July!

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is July! In beginning of the month fashion, I'm linking up with Farley for July Currently.

Listening: to The Bachelorette. It's ridiculous how excited I get to watch this show each week. 

Loving: Summer vacation. Doing what I want when I want. Making my own schedule, getting around to the things that I feel like I never get to. 

Thinking: I am SO tired of drinking water! I've been measuring and tracking my water the last couple of days and I feel like I am going to float away! 

Wanting: to know what's up with all of the dudes wearing scarves on The Bachelorette. Maybe it's just that I am jealous because they're rocking them better than I do.

Needing: to keep up my momentum. I'm doing well with a lot of things that have to do with taking care of myself this summer and I'm hoping I can keep it up!

4th Plans: Keeping it low key. I am not a fan of 4th of July and want to make sure the pup doesn't get freaked out over my neighbors' love of fireworks, so I'm taking him to my mom's for a BBQ.

June Currently

Happy June! We have four days left with kids and then one work day. I am so looking forward to summer! Today I'm posting my June Currently from Farley at Oh Boy Fourth Grade.

I'm hoping the classical music will keep me calm as I try to finish a whole bunch of to-do list items in a short amount of time. I want a maid because I swear I can't keep up! It will never happen, but a girl can dream, right? I am so drained from school lately and life in general and end of the year craziness and can't seem to muster up a whole bunch of energy. Finally, I really am hoping to work on that summer bucket list. For reals! 

I know most of you are already soaking up summer, but check out these Primary Reading Comprehension Graphic Organizers on TPT. I've been so slow at getting things on TPT. I think I worked on these at the beginning of 2014 and just now am getting to putting them in my store. Yikes!

April Currently with Exhaustion Setting In

Tomorrow marks the beginning of my favorite month! To kick things off I'm linking up with Farley with my April Currently.

 I feel like all of my answers are pretty to the point this month and may not need elaboration- or I'm just ridiculously tired from the first day back after Spring Break. Shhhh. Today is hitting me like the 1st day of school! My legs hurt, my shoulders are carrying stress like nobody's business and I'm exhausted. Oh how quickly Spring Break fades...

March Currently

It's March! I am so excited! I felt like February got a little hairy there at the end and the freshness of a new month was welcome. I'm linking up with Farley with my March Currently!

Listening: to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. I never used to watch his show but caught the "Best of Jimmy Fallon" special and was immediately hooked. I set up a season pass to record once he moved over to The Tonight Show and I love watching it when I get a chance. My favorite part of the show- his "Ew" sketches where he dresses like a teenage girl and does a little talk show in the basement. There's a guy that plays his stepdad Gary in the sketches and he just cracks me up! "Hey gals, that's some pretty funky rap dancing you're doing there." Ew!

Here's one of the Ew! sketches with Jimmy Fallon and Channing Tatum. 

Loving: that it's the weekend. It felt like a really long week with rainy days and indoor recesses, pajama day, and more. Ready to relax!

Thinking: that I wish Target was open at midnight, I'd be there right now.

Wanting: to turn my mind off and go back to sleep. I fell asleep at 9 because...I'm an old lady...but woke up just a bit ago wide awake. I wish I could turn my mind off with a switch.

Needing: balance. I can't seem to fit everything in and don't feel like I'm giving my attention to some things that need it the most. Like myself.

February Currently

Tomorrow is February! I can't believe it! I've taken a bit of a break from blogging this past month because, well...quite honestly, I feel like I haven't done anything super creative or unique in the classroom. I am constantly in awe of my fellow teacher-bloggers out there who seem to be always doing such fun, festive things in their rooms.

I'm linking up today with Farley for February's Currently. Here we go!

2 Truths and a Fib- The mustard is a fib- I can't STAND it! Just thinking about mustard is freaking me out. I feel like it's one of those bossy foods that overpowers others. Pet peeve (and not just with food)!

Juan-uary Currently

Happy New Year! 

By the way, I love that it's an even numbered year, not sure why. It just feels better. Weirdo!

Has anyone seen the commercials for The Bachelor where they are touting the start date as "Juan-uary?" I cannot say January the same way anymore.

December Currently and Classroom Decorating

It's the most wonderful tiiiiiiime of the year! I love December. I love all of the fun activities happening at school associated with the holidays. I love that there are only three weeks of school until three weeks off! I love it all.

The classroom is decorated for Christmas, student gifts for parents are ready to be made, the Elf on the Shelf is in the freezer...bring on the fun! Here's a quick peek at the stockings and such adorning the classroom. I'll be sharing a bunch of Christmas photos and a couple freebies this month so hang tight!

For now, it's time for December's Currently thanks to Oh Boy 4th Grade!

Thinking- about how excited the students will be tomorrow. We're starting the Elf on the Shelf, they have new seats, the classroom is decked out with snowflakes and snowmen, a Christmas tree, and stockings for each of them. I'm pretty sure they're going to wake up from whatever Thanksgiving break sleepiness they had pretty quickly. 

Favorite Tradition- Christmas Eve we always get new PJ's. I usually get a new pair of Old Navy's fleece pajama pants (soooo comfy they've been dubbed 'Comfy Pants.' That took a lot of thought, I know). We drive around looking at Christmas lights with hot chocolate in our hands and watch Christmas Vacation every year, thankful that our family isn't that bad. It never gets old.

November Currently

I may or may not be walking around the house singing, "It's the most wonderful tiiiiiime of the year!" lately. Happy November!

The next two months are my favorite. I love everything about November and December- family time, shopping, crafting, decorating, school holidays, fun projects when you're at school, I could go on and on.

October Currently

Happy October! I love this month. I love all things fall- scarves, boots, pumpkins, the colors of the leaves on the trees. I also love Farley's Currently's! 

Listening: To last night's episode of Dancing with the Stars. It's amazing that I haven't already heard who was eliminated via Facebook or some other source.

Loving: That students are getting out of school at 11:45 all week for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Just enough time for me to be stressed, but not over-stressed.

Thinking: About the best way to help some of my students. Isn't it funny the random times that they pop into our minds? Always trying to figure out better ways to help each little kidling.

Wanting: A pumpkin spice latte. I had never had one until last week and it was pretty yummy! It fits into my fall repertoire quite nicely.

Needing: To do some stretches. I can feel my back and shoulders tensing up and need to go work it out.

Trick or Treat: Trick- Music for transitions. This isn't some new and exciting idea, that's for sure, but it's something new to me. I've never used music for transitions before, but my class this year really responds to it. This morning I forgot to use one of the transition songs, and they let me know right away! Their favorite song is our end of the day "pack it up, stack it up (chairs), line up" song- "The Final Countdown." It's a catchy 80's tune. I try to use songs that may be familiar and aren't too Dr. Jean-y. Nothing against Dr. Jean, I own the c.d.'s, but sometimes the sing-songy songs drive me bananas.

September Currently

Happy September everyone! The hint of Fall was in the air today. It even rained a couple drops for about 30 seconds. I was ready to light candles and throw some pumpkin bread in the oven, but I refrained. 

I'm linking up with Farley's Currently.

Listening: to "The Proposal." I think I've seen this movie 25 times. I love it and love Ryan Reynolds. 

Loving: this three day weekend! Every weekend should be three days. Seriously.

Thinking: about all that was accomplished today! Some big items were checked off of the to-do list that had been on it for way too long. Feeling like I'm taking control of my life again. 

Wanting: to start a family. This isn't something new, but something that I want more and more with each passing day. 

Needing: to get some much needed rest this weekend. I've been battling a little something-something. A sore throat and other fun stuff provided by the wee ones. I felt pretty good today, and am hoping I can quietly tiptoe away from this little bug my body was battling. 

My Personal Goals: a pedicure, hitting up the gym, and less schoolwork at home. Necessities.

August!?! What!?! A little sad summer is ending, but excited to link up with Farley for this month's Currently.

Back to School Must Haves: 

-Fun pens and pencils- Flair pens, Frixion erasable gel pens, mechanical pencils, all a must-have in order to write in my planner! 

-My classroom to feel like home- I spend a lot of time there, so my classroom has to be inviting and comfortable for not only my students but me too.

-Comfortable, cute shoes- not sure they exist! Every year I try to find comfortable shoes that also look cute. Shoes that I can stand in all day and not go home with blisters or sore feet. I have yet to find them. Don't get me wrong, I've found shoes that are o.k., but the cute factor is usually missing.

Loving: That it's summer. That's pretty self-explanatory.

Thinking: About my plans for the day. It's supposed to be close to 110 again today. The beach with the niece and nephew may be in order.

Wanting: It to be July 1st already, so Google Reader can make its exit. While I was a Google Reader connoisseur, I am looking forward to it finally going away so we can see what really happens with Google Friends Connect, our blog count, and more, and can move on with our lives. I feel like it's Y2K. 

Needing: To take the dog on a walk before it's 110 out. The poor pup is missing his weekend trip to the dog park because I like sleeping in.

June Currently

The beginning of the month always means it's time for Farley's Currently! 

Listening: the lovely neighbors behind me have chickens that make a tremendous amount of noise. A lot. It's fantastic.

Loving: Usually I have wee bit of Sunday blues right about now, but this morning, I'm feeling pretty good knowing that I only have three days left. Don't get me wrong, I do love my little friends this year, but I am tired, and a cranky teacher is no fun.

Thinking: I'm trying to figure out what I NEED to do today, and what can wait until next weekend. 

Wanting: Energy! You know those mornings where you wake up refreshed and energetic? Yeah, I know, they don't happen very often. But I want one today. I took two naps yesterday people. Two! I just couldn't get it together. 

Needing: Starbucks. Enough said.

3 Vacay Essentials: Flip flops, which are pretty much an essential at all times, not just vacation. My iPad so I can catch up on trashy celebrity news. Finally, a drink with an umbrella, which officially means you are ON vacation.

Seriously, where did April go? Crazy how fast it flew by. It's time for Farley's Currently!

Listening to "The Voice" from the other night. These two hour shows are killing me! I have to fast forward a lot of them, otherwise there's no way I'd be able to keep up.

Loving my new blue and white polka dot wallpaper from Cuptakes. That app is amazing. New wallpapers every month. 

Thinking that I should be doing something more productive. Always. I know I have stuff on my list to do tonight, but I can't seem to find the motivation to do anything but veg out tonight.

Wanting to download new music. I'm liking "Red Hands" by Walk Off the Earth and "Mirrors" by Justin Timberlake. 

Needing more self confidence. It's hard to describe, but I've had this uneasy feeling the last couple of days. Unsettled really. I'm second guessing myself a lot and not feeling like I'm making the right decisions. I'm not sure where it's all coming from.

Summer Bucket List is friends, family, and fun. I want to make these a focus, as much as possible with those that aren't off during the summer. The break always seems to go WAY too fast and my goal is to go back to school feeling relaxed and fulfilled.

April Currently

April! My favorite month of the year! It's time for Farley's Currently.

Tomorrow is the last day of Spring Break and I've put off quite a few things to spend time relaxing instead. Wise choice and I don't regret it, but I need to get my bootie in gear tomorrow. 

I'm wanting summer. Spring Break, while much appreciated, is always just a little tease of what's to come for summer! Lots of family time being at the top of the list.

Needing to clean the house. One of those things I thought I would accomplish during my week off, and just...didn't. Tomorrow is the day, along with all of the other projects I procrastinated doing. 

Finally, my blogging advice is to be yourself. I hesitated for a long time about including blog posts about crafty projects on my blog because I thought I had to just stick to teaching stuff. And while teaching is a part of my life, it is just that, a part. Fun Pinterest projects, family stuff, and yummy recipes are also a part of my life. I've come to terms with the fact that this blog is for me, and if people aren't happy to read about other things besides teaching, then this blog isn't for them.

March Currently

Wow, it's March! The last couple days have been so hectic that I haven't changed the calendars in the house and hadn't really thought much about the date until I just found a couple minutes to catch up on blogs and saw Farley had posted her Currently linky!

So here we go...

Today I bought a cute green and navy blue striped dress from Target- it is so fun! It was only 25 dollars, poofs out at the bottom and makes me want to twirl, and has pockets. Pockets! Comfy! I wore it to a bridal shower I hosted today- one of the reasons why life has been so busy lately.

I have been procrastinating when it comes to my report cards. I really need to sit down and get them done started tomorrow. 

Have you heard the new song by Pink and the lead singer, Nate Ruess, from Fun!? It's fantastic. 

Liking Jamba Juice (Strawberries Wild or Strawberry Surf Rider please) smoothies since the weather has been nice.

Loving wearing jeans every day. So relaxed.

And jicama...blech. That sums that up.

February Currently

The beginning of a new month means it's time for another Currently courtesy of Farley at Oh Boy Fourth Grade. 

Listening to the Ellen Show on t.v. that I recorded from earlier today. That lady cracks me up and it's always a great release after work. The cat is enjoying the show too, and the fact that the puppy is sleeping and he isn't being bothered. 

Loving the cute Valentine's Day crafts that I hope to execute and put up this weekend. I'm most excited about this bunting:

Thinking of all the things I want to catch up on this weekend. Blogs, school stuff, things around the house, catching up with family, etc.!

Wanting some new Valentine's Day gel clings for my classroom windows. I have snowmen up right now and am ready to change over to hearts. A trip to the Dollar Tree and Michael's is a must this weekend. 

Needing a drink! What can I say, some days it just feels necessary. 

And finally, my pet peeve. Oy. I cannot stand people who think they are better than others and act as such. This has been my biggest grumble since high school. Take it down a notch and join the rest of us here on planet Earth, mmmk?

January Currently

Happy 2013! There's something so refreshing about a new year and leaving all of the negative behind. It is SO last year people. Today I'm linking up with Farley's Currently.

Listening: The birds in the backyard are just about the only thing making noise at the current moment.

Loving: Target has these adorable little vases/pots out right now that have a chalkboard label on them. I am using an orange one along with some other orange goodies as a hostess gift. Holy cuteness Target! I picked up some of the white vases in different sizes for myself. 

Thinking: I just saw the movie, "This is 40," and a quote from it is really sticking with me. It's hard to forgive someone who hasn't apologized yet. I'm pretty sure the apology I'm looking for is never going to come. I am sure someone out there, who is much stronger than I am, can forgive someone for something they haven't apologized for, but I'm not in that place yet. In my heart I know I need to forgive in order to give myself peace. Maybe in time. By the way, I thoroughly enjoyed the "This is 40" movie!

Wanting: Inner peace. I'll get there.

Needing: My mom engrained in me from the time I was little to always write thank you notes. It's sad to me that it seems lost these days. I need to get my last two written stat. 

OLW: Happiness. That's my wish for myself for 2013. Staying in the moment and enjoying life. I think I can, I think I can.
