Sprinkle Cake

Happy Sunday! I love that it is almost 6 o'clock and still perfectly light outside. So far so good on the time change. The only thing that threw me was looking up at the clock thinking it must be just a bit after noon and it was almost 3. Whoops! That made me put a little extra effort into getting my to-do list accomplished.

Friday was my niece's third birthday and even though we are celebrating next weekend I had been wanting to try out this pin.

I also happened to have cake mix, sprinkles, and frosting in the pantry so I gave it a whirl. It actually went pretty smoothly and turned out pretty cute. I went a little overboard on the sprinkles because my niece is a sprinkle fiend. She LOVED it!

I have a love/hate relationship with baking. Most of the time my baked goods turn out terrible, hence the hate part of the relationship. On the rare occasion, the baked goods turn out decent, restoring my confidence and tempting me to keep trying. I've been told things come out bad because I am stressed when I'm baking, and that when I'm calm and relaxed the items turn out better. I don't know if that's true.
